Reviews:
"While I love candle lanterns for camping trips, I don’t like to use them all the time. After all, if I only need a light for just a moment while I look for my contact case, I don’t always feel like having to light a candle. This candle lantern with a battery powered LED light is perfect. I can use the candle when I need extended light and the flashlight end for when I need light quickly or for a short amount of time. And the LED light even comes with both a head strap and a tabletop stand, making it very convenient to use.
FYI: the citronella and beeswax replacement candles are great!"

"At least a few times I have gone on a camping trip, only to have my flashlight or camping lantern or headlamp etc. run out of juice after only a short period of time (I am not so good at remembering to replace batteries I guess). That is why this candle lantern is perfect for me. Once the flashlight end of it runs out of juice, I will still have over 9 hours worth of candle light to replace it.
I can easily take this lantern backpacking or even store it in my car. It is compact and collapses. By collapsing it, you are in effect protecting the glass casing.
My only problem is that although the LED battery should last for 40 hours, I am likely to use it up, and I am not quite sure yet how easy it is to replace."

"This candle lantern is so easy and fun to use, as well as relatively inexpensive. I have even bought one for each of my children (but I do not let them take the candles inside the tent
)."
